More than five years after their official separation, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have received the annulment of the Catholic Church, according to a new report.
“Gwen was informed that the decision was made by the Vatican court,” a source told Us Weekly. “He will receive written notice in the coming weeks, but it is official.”
The 51-year-old frontman of No Doubt filed for divorce from the 54-year-old rocker in August 2015 after nearly 13 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. They ended their divorce in April 2016.
Stefani reportedly postponed the idea of marrying the fiancé Blake Shelton until the annulment was finalized due to his religious beliefs. According to the source, receiving the official blessing from the Catholic Church should move things.
“It was a great relief for Gwen because she wanted to marry her priest and have the marriage recognized by the Catholic Church,” the source added.
Stefani and Rossdale share children Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11, and Apollo, 6.
