The PS5 player warns that there is a problem with the weirder DualSense driver

A new problem is said to be emerging for PlayStation 5 gamers, especially those who can wear a watch. Some who have used the PS5’s DualSense controller have found that the device is slightly magnetized. While this may not mean much to most people, players who wear mechanical watches may be careful.

This information was produced through Reddit, where a user named Siguchi reported the initial details. The message indicates that while the DualSense controller may not damage the mechanical watch, the handheld device emits a magnetic charge. Several thread users then reaffirmed it and confirmed that it is true. One user even compared the DualSense to the DualShock 4 and found that the former has a much stronger load than the latter.

While this may be a cause for concern for some, the charge emitted by the DualSense does not appear to be strong enough to cause serious damage to the watch you may be carrying. After further testing, the original wire poster found that the magnetic intensity drops to fairly normal levels just a few inches from the controller. This means that even if you wear a mechanical watch, you probably shouldn’t be affected.

Still, this whole situation is certainly fascinating to know. While there are many more internal things compared to previous PlayStation controllers, it’s surprising to know that the DualSense emits a small electromagnetic field. Apparently, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers require certain forms of technology that we did not expect.
