It is difficult to break this bond of brotherhood.
After several reports of the conflict between Prince William and Prince Harry, the brothers have apparently been working on their long-distance relationship after Harry’s Megxit move to California with his wife Meghan Markle and son Archie.
“There were phone and video calls during the Christmas and New Year holidays and the Sussex sent gifts to Cambridges and vice versa,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET. “It was an opportunity in a very busy and chaotic year for the two families to get together and connect, albeit practically.”
The couple has come a long way, as just last year William refused to break bread with his brother during the famous Sandringham summit, where the whole family tried to solve the Megxit drama.
“Things are much better between William and Harry. If you go back a year to this stage, these brothers were barely able to speak, ”Nicholl recalled. “When William went to the summit in Sandringham, he was so angry with his brother. I couldn’t even afford to go to that lunch with the queen. He only went to the meetings, such was his frustration and disappointment at what his brother had done and how Harry was handling the situation.
“Advanced to date, the relationship is much better than it was,” he continued. “To begin with, they speak in terms of speech and not just speak relatively regularly. They were very in touch during the holidays, ”explains Nicholl. “But there’s an ocean between them, there’s a time difference and like Harry [has] He said … they are two brothers on different paths. “
The brothers could meet in person as soon as this spring. Harry is also likely to make the trip back home in July to honor his mother at the inauguration of a new statue of Princess Diana.
“The long-awaited tribute to the statue of Princess Diana will be unveiled in the gardens of Kensington Palace on what would have been her 60th birthday,” says Nicholl. “And Harry’s intention, and Meghan’s too, is to be here in the UK for this opening. It may be the first time we’ve seen the brothers together, but I think we’ll probably see them together in the spring around the celebrations. of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s birthday. COVID’s travel plans allow it. ”
