Pachuca allied with Paris Saint German (PSG) to consolidate their division of Paris sports and with which, in 10 years, they dream of forging the best Mexican video game talent as they did in football with Hirving Lozano.
“A year ago we started planning the project, we are looking for different teams that already have an eSports division to advise us and the first to answer us was PSG,” the director of Efe told Efe on Saturday. marketing of Pachuca, Gil Marines.
PSG has had eSports teams since 2016 and currently participates in League of Legends, FIFA, Dota 2 and Brawl Stars.
The Parisian team has given advice to Pachuca on how to recruit players, what are the ideal team models, which video games should venture into and the prospects they have for e-sports in the future.
“What we’ve learned the most from the PSG is their organization, they have advanced work, they hire gamers from other countries to participate in their teams, they go one step further than us in Mexico,” Marines added.
Pachuca signed 25 gamers in six different games, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Clash Royale, Rainbow Six Siege, Fornite and FIFA, the only one in which they compete in an official League.
To decide on these titles, the marketing area conducted a social media survey in which voters concluded which ones were the ones in which gamers competed the most.
The hidalguense team decided to enter the eSports not only for the more than 55 million gamers in Mexico who could be potential fans of the football team, but for the opportunity to set the pattern in the competitions and in the field academic with his University of Football.
“We will present a project to the board to do courses for gamers at the University of Football and, if all goes well, build a gamer house that will serve as a talent roster nationwide,” Marines explained.
The country center institution also aims to develop the area of sports medicine specializing in eSports, to train psychologists, physical trainers and physiotherapists to care for professional players.
These plans will crystallize in about four years, when Marines estimates they will have competitive teams in the major leagues.
“In 10 years we want to have the best basic forces of gamers in the country, such as we are in football where talents like Hirving Lozano (Italian Napoli striker) and Héctor Herrera (Atlético de Madrid) have come from,” remarked Marines.
Pachuca Esports is in a first stage in which it streams video game tutorials through official social networks and in the near future they plan to make friendly matches of FIFA with teams like the Argentine Independent and the Chilean Everton.
