The Kentucky basketball team we were finally waiting for is already here. The Wildcats ’six-game losing streak is ancient history. John Calipari’s cats have now won three games in a row thanks to a full team effort in Gainesville, defeating Florida 76-58 on Keion Brooks ’return to the court.
Little was expected of the sensational sophomore year on his return to hardwood. Brooks quickly proved he didn’t miss the beat of the injury, and grabbed a lob in the transition to dive into his first play of the game.
Let me reintroduce myself.
My name is @ KeionB_12.

This was not his only mess of the day.
We missed that. A lot.

In his first game since scoring 10 points in Gainesville last March, Brooks played 24 minutes, finishing with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Brooks wasn’t the only wild cat playing at an incredibly high level. All players contributed to the team’s victory, mostly on defense, scoring 25 points on 15 Gator rotations. Rain of turnovers led to a 10-0 run in the UK at the start of the second half. Kentucky turned the game around with a 13-0 lead from the 11th minute, highlighted by a six-point possession that featured three from Davion Mintz and Devin Askew.
Four players scored in double figures for the Wildcats, including BJ Boston. The fallen shooter changed his hairstyle, brought rebounds to the hardwood and buried his first triple in a game since Dec. 12. He finished the night with 13 points, tied at the top of the team with Mintz.
Kentucky thoroughly dominated Florida for their best win of the season. Kentucky basketball is fun again and it doesn’t slow down anytime soon.
