Makati’s tax office warned that there was not enough evidence to determine that it was sexual abuse and urged Flipinas Police to step up the investigation of the case.
The 11 detainees related to the rape and death of the hostess Christine Angélica Dacera they were released for lack of evidence against him.
Christine Angelica’s murder was committed during a New Year’s Eve party at the luxurious City Garden Hotel in Makati, Philippines.

According to local media, such as The Philippine Daily Inquirer, the young woman, who worked at Philippine Airlines, attended the party offered at the hotel with a group of friends and then the celebration continued in one of the rooms of the same.

The next morning, one of the attendees got up and saw her in the empty, sleeping tub. “He covered her with a blanket and let her rest,” the police report notes.

At around 10 a.m. on the first day of 2021, the same person, who hours earlier had covered her with the blanket, noticed that the young woman was “putting on blue,” and called for emergencies, but every effort went be in vain.

However, hours after the arrests, the 11 involved were released because the Makati prosecutor’s office warned that there was insufficient evidence to determine that it was a rape and urged Flipinas Police to step up the investigation of the case.
“Similarly, if a homicide was committed, the person responsible has not yet been determined by further evidence,” warned the prosecution’s ruling, quoted by ‘CNN Philippines’.
