Riot Games has revealed a new agent destined Valuing next to the release of episode 2, which will arrive on January 12th. The new character is called Yoru and it looks like he might change the game when he arrives. The character will offer players several unique skills to use in the game, which should make it difficult to play against Yoru. The character can be teleported thanks to his Gatecrash ability, hide from opponents with Dimensional Rift, or use Blindside to throw an unstable dimensional fragment that flickers when connected to a surface.
However, Yoru’s most interesting ability could be Fakeout. Like Yoru, players can create an echo that sounds similar to the steps. Like Yoru, players can send the steps forward or set them in place, to throw at opponents. Sound plays an important role in any FPS title, and this ability will make opposing players know a lot more about whether the sounds they hear are legitimate or part of an elaborate cunning.
A movie trailer for episode 2, featuring Yoru, can be found in the trailer included below.
Riot Games calls Yoru a “duelist infiltrator” and his skills seem to reflect that fact. It will be interesting to see how Valuing players turn to the new agent and how they find creative uses for the character’s skills. Adding any new character to a game like this often makes a huge difference in the playing field, and part of the fun is seeing how players work on the challenge.
Released last year, Valuing is a team-based tactical FPS. The main game mode includes players in a five-on-five competition. Currently, the game offers 13 agents with different abilities to select, and the Yoru version will increase that number by one. Tuesday’s release of Valuing Episode 2 will also see a new battle pass available that will run until March 1st. Players who missed some of the game’s previous skins can also check out the Run-It-Back package, which will include some previous deals.
Valuing is now available for PC. You can check out all of our previous game coverage right here.
