A sudden explosion appears to have caused a fire in the early hours of the morning that hospitalized 2 people

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Two people are hospitalized after suffering burns from a house fire on Saturday morning.

Authorities said they were inside the house when it caught fire. According to Miami Dade Fire Rescue, the call arrived at 5:47 p.m.

Neighbors told Local 10 News that they heard a loud explosion coming from an efficiency behind a house just northwest of 36th Avenue northwest of 33rd Court.

The force of the explosion was so great that it blew up part of the efficiency roof in a house next door.

Surveillance video captured the explosion.

“I mean he shook that place,” said neighbor Sylvester Williams. “The whole neighborhood was shaking like a bomb.”

Firefighters were able to put out the fire before it spread to neighboring houses.

“The units arrived to find a strong fire from the outside of the building that was being packed inside. They made a fire attack and ended up finding a couple of victims, “said Ryan Rothenberg of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The conditions of the two people are currently unknown and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
