The game’s latest contribution to online Zeitgeist is the brief scene where supporting character Lamar Davis plays the protagonist Franklin Clinton, who has become the basis of an extremely popular meme.
This morning, PlayStation Haven uploaded a YouTube video Black Jesus star Gerald “Slink” Johnson and Shawn Fonteno recreate their roles as Lamar and Franklin.

While this was the logical end point for the joke format, the changes in model and even the voice performed by amateurs have replaced Lamar with Kermit the frog a Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu during the last few months. Again, many of these videos are NSFW, but there is only something Sponge Bob Square Pants saying “yee yee-ass haircut” asking you to see.
It’s hard to identify a key detail or moment that caused this scene to come to an agreement with the creators and the online audience. All in all it’s fun, which is a big advantage, but Lamar takes a look at an almost lyrical bastard with a singing insult. Personally, I always look forward to the “What ?!” in the end, especially when Lamar has been replaced by someone as out of place as Darth Vader or Snow White.
Regardless, we have at least one more thing to distract us from the world of hell.
