Bloober Team’s next Xbox and PC exclusive He Medium will be released later this month and the developer has released a new trailer to showcase the use the game makes of NVIDIA RTX technology. At launch, the game will use technology on the computer and Microsoft DirectX Raytracing on the console. Although most Xbox Series X games S are also released on Xbox One, The Middle it will only be available on both Microsoft next-generation systems. The new trailer for the game certainly gives viewers an idea of why this is so, with an amazing use of raytracing. Fans of the survival-horror genre will definitely want to watch this game when it is released.
The new trailer can be found embedded below.
The reflections seen in the trailer above really show what the game will bring to the table. From the way the light bounces off the walls and floors, to the reflections of the display cases and picture frames, there’s an incredible sense of atmosphere throughout the short trailer. While the leap in technology from the previous generation of consoles to the new is not as significant as previous generational changes, raytracing should make a big difference in how developers can bring a world to life in the their games.
Of course, survival-horror games have always excelled at increasing tension through the use of the atmosphere. Previous Bloober Team games have done so with less impressive visuals, so it will be interesting to see what difference the most powerful hardware will make. Clearly, the developer is looking for ways to make real use of next-generation technology.
For those unfamiliar with Bloober Team, the developer has previously worked on games such as Layers of fear, Observer, i Witch Blair. The studio based in Poland clearly has the ability to create terrifying games and The Middle it seems that it will not be an exception. However, it remains to be seen whether the game will be able to offer an experience that fulfills the legacy of the studio.
The Middle is scheduled to be released exclusively on Xbox Series X | S and PC on January 28th. You can check out all of our previous game coverage right here.
