The next open world of WB Games Harry Potter game Legacy of Hogwarts has been rolled back to 2022. It was originally scheduled to hit PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC some year this year.
“Creating the best possible experience for all fans of the world of magicians and games is critical to us, so we give the game the time it needs,” a official statement reads.
Legacy of Hogwarts was first announced last September as the next project of Disney Infinity Avalanche Software developer. It is set in the world of 1800 wizards, giving players the opportunity to guide a Hogwarts student through an original story long before Mr. Potter made the scene.
Months before Legacy of Hogwarts was officially announced, Bloomberg reported that the developers were concerned about Rowling’s connection to the project due to his very public and pernicious transphobia. The revelation of the game was immediately controversial for the same reasons, which led to WB Games distancing oneself from the author.
