The new addition to the Green Bay Packers list is no longer available.
According to the thread of the league’s transactions, the Packers put Jared Veldheer on the reserve list / COVID-19 on the reserve list / COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Veldheer, who was signed to the Indianapolis Colts training squad on Tuesday, did not practice with the Packers on Wednesday due to the positive test. The Packers included him as a non-participant in the injury report due to an unrelated injury issue.
Seconds ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the packers deleted part of the league’s protocols through contact tracking, meaning no other player will have to join Veldheer on the reserve list.
Matt LaFleur’s team’s concern is that other players will test positive for Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Veldheer, who played two games for the Packers last season, returned to Green Bay after playing the Colts playoff game against the Buffalo Bills last Saturday. As part of the Colts’ training squad, Veldheer was able to sign with the Packers.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Veldheer would provide valuable depth along the offensive line, especially behind alleged starters Billy Turner and Rick Wagner on offensive offense. This idea is already sprinkled.
With just three days to go, Veldheer will miss Saturday’s game against the Rams, but could be ready for the NFC championship game if the Packers win the Rams.
