Houston Texans football operations executive vice president Jack Easterby could be counted on the organization, according to Peter King of NBC Sports.
“I think they’ll get rid of him,” King told Dale & Keefe Thursday.
This happens amid months of pressure from fans and the media for Houston to do this.

Easterby, the former “New England Patriots character coach,” has made rapid progress up the office ladder in an unorthodox manner, given his lack of football training.
With this provoking an unflattering display of Sports Illustrated at Easterby time in Houston, there have been a growing number of questions about the level of power that seems to have been granted to it by Texans owner and CEO Cal McNair.
Star player Deshaun Watson is concerned about the direction of the front office involved in Easterby. Combine that with legendary Texan receiver Andre Johnson coming out against Easterby on Twitter earlier this week, with several current and former players supporting his stance, and it’s no surprise to hear speculation of a possible exit of Easterby of the team.
“I think it was really an interesting sign (I don’t even know how many people know that) that Jack Easterby was basically told not to talk to Sports Illustrated when that damning report came out,” King said.

“So when that happens, my feeling is – and again, that’s probably an exaggeration – but when I heard that, it reminded me of Scott Pioli in Kansas City when I was being tarnished by Todd Haley, the former coach at none. They didn’t want me to talk. Well, what happens next? Shortly afterwards, I forget what time, but Pioli was gone. “
It should be noted, however, that at no time did King say that this opinion was based on sources.
“I think it’s only a matter of time before Jack Easterby leaves,” King said. “As for what hasn’t happened yet, I don’t know the answer.”
