Wan’Dale Robinson will move to Kentucky

Wan’Dale Robinson (finally) will be a Kentucky wildcat.

Shortly after entering the transfer portal, the Frankfort native announced that he would bring his talents to his Old Kentucky home.

Just over two years ago, Robinson committed to playing Mark Stoops in Kentucky. Western Hills High School Football changed his mind two weeks before signing the day, and chose to play for Scott Frost in Nebraska. He made a slight detour, but eventually Wan’Dale found his way to the UK with the help of Stoops and Vince Marrow.

Robinson immediately adjusted to the billing of an All-American, setting Nebraska records for receptions and garden receptions for a freshman in 2019. He continued this by leading the Huskers to the reception in 2020. 20 college football games, Robinson won only about 2,000 was a two-time finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, given each year to the most versatile college football player in the country.

High school star, in his last football season he scored 45 touchdowns in 11 games. Whether he was running, as a wide receiver, returning or playing on defense, Robinson could turn any play into a touchdown. Now, the BBN will be able to see him play at Kroger Field as he catches passes from a former enemy of the district, former Lexington Catholic quarterback Beau Allen.

Robinson gives Kentucky’s offense an immediate shock of explosiveness after multiple seasons of air fighting. A slot machine receiver that can make people lose, Liam Coen’s offense will target Robinson early and frequently. It can’t be quantified how much adding the big-play maker to the offense will help the new interlocutor and new quarterback in 2021.

We’ll have a lot more on what Robinson’s return to Kentucky means for the Wildcats until the ball starts this fall. Before the exaggerated train gets off the tracks, enjoy some of Robinson’s best work on the football field.
