Gladys González, dancer and choreographer remembered for her forays into Cuban television programs three decades ago, especially the popular “Per Ballar”, died in Mexico due to a heart attack on January 13, her son reported , actor Julio Camejo, on his social media.
González was a partner for many years of Antonio Sánchez, now deceased, and both made the duo Gladys and Antonio one of the best known dance couples on the island.
Through “Per Ballar” and other spaces, both taught dance classes and developed a teaching work that extended to the “Learning to Dance” program, in which they disseminated Cuban and foreign dance traditions.
“The last of the rumba, Gladys González, ‘Antonio’s wife’, is dancing next to my father once again today. I am left with all the great things they left me. And gratitude, because thanks to you I am the man, the father, the artist and the person I am, ”Camejo wrote on his Instagram profile.
Until the time of his death, González taught at the Technological Institute of Higher Studies in Monterrey.
