The numbers were 3, 11, 12, 38, 43, with a Mega Ball of 15 and would have marked the fifth biggest prize ever achieved.
Mega Millions estimated that its next maximum prize would be $ 850 million, which would be the third largest of all time. The drawing is on Tuesday.
Lottery players still have a chance to win with Saturday’s draw for a $ 640 million maximum Powerball prize, the eighth biggest prize. The odds of winning are every 292.2 million.
It’s been almost two years since a lottery prize has become so big. No one has won the top prize in either game in months.
The amounts of the said prize refer to the winners who opt for an annuity, paid for 30 years. Winners almost always choose cash prizes, which for Powerball would be $ 478.7 million. The estimated cash prize for the next Mega Millions award is $ 628.2 million.
Mega Millions and Powerball are played in 45 states, as well as in Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball is also offered in Puerto Rico.
