The company producing the program “Now it is! “announced today the culmination of the television space, after three years at Univision Puerto Rico.
The production company, MasterMind Hub, has reported that as of yesterday, Friday, January 15, it ceased its business relationship with the station which is transmitted via the WLII signal.
MasterMind Hub’s contract with Univision ended on December 31, 2020 and the producers decided not to renew with the new owners, the company Liberman Media Group. The sale of Univision Puerto Rico was announced in August.
“We are extremely grateful to Univision for trusting our vision of healthy, entertaining and socially conscious content. We managed to establish a style of television that was welcomed by the public, which immediately professed our loyalty and affection. However This, in the face of the shock we have experienced as a country and as a society, we understand that it is time to start another path. obeys any discomfort, in return, we appreciate the respect they have always given us and the positivism and professionalism that characterized our working relationship, “the production company said in written statements.
The production announced this week the schedule change at 2:00 p.m. as of Monday, January 18, so it was understood that he would remain on the channel.
The announcement was made through the social network Instagram, but today the program account is disabled.
The animators of the space Yizette Cifredo and José Santana, are the founders of the production company and beyond the official statement from MasterMind Hub, have not shared their new plans following the cancellation of the television space. Both presenters led the space for three years, along with collaborators Brenda Rivera and makeup artist and actor Bryan Villarini.
Prior to the schedule change, the program had occupied other hours that included 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 5:55 pm
Changes in Univision in the opinion are the agenda before the new administration.
According to a source close to the companies involved in this transaction, it is expected that with the official change from Univision PR to TeleOnce, it will be integrated into the programming of this channel productions that Liberman Media Group already presents in the stations of television that owns in the United States. This programming is aimed primarily at Latin audiences on the west coast of the United States.
Similarly, it is likely that some of the local productions that are broadcast at the time will be maintained. To these would be added the production of a news program and a morning program. This explains Telemundo’s move to start producing the “Morning Show” scheduled to premiere on February 15 as a competition strategy at this time, dominated so far by Wapa TV’s “Noticentro a l’Alba”.
The sale of Univision PR occurs because the new owners of the Univision chain are Searchlight, ForgeLight and Grup Televisa. Searchlight in turn has interests with Hemisphere Media Group, owners of Wapa TV. The Federal Communications Commission required the transaction to prevent the congestion of television stations on the island under one owner.
However, TeleOnce is committed to continuing to broadcast content from the Univision chain.
At the television level, Univision still owns the WOLE channels in Mayagüez and WSTE, in Ponce.
Univision maintained the radio stations WKAQ and KQ105, which have begun to undergo changes by the new owners of the chain, such as the departures of Javier Cosme, news and content director of WKAQ 580; and Carlos González, KQ-105 programming director.
