Lafayette police are responding at the Acadiana Mall after reports of gunfire.
According to the LPD spokesman, Cpl. Bridgette Dugas, agents responded to reports of a fight in the dining area of the Acadiana Mall at the Ambassador Caffery.
A gun was unloaded during the incident and a shot was fired, according to police. No injuries were reported at this time.
Lafayette police stress that it was an isolated incident and that they are working to locate the people involved.
The mall is closed the rest of the night.
Witnesses tell KATC that they heard gunshots and then saw people running. Mall employees were holding people in the back of the stores.
This is a developing story; we have a crew on stage that will be updated with more information when it becomes available.
