GLENDALE, AZ – One person is dead and two others are injured in a mishap in the West Valley.
The crash occurred along Loop 101 to the north, near Cardinals Way, in Glendale, Monday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the driver of the wrong vehicle suffered non-fatal injuries. The passenger was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. The two occupants of the vehicle on the wrong road were women, DPS said at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle who was hit by the wrong driver, only identified as a man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Impairment is being investigated as a shock factor.
The roadway was stopped for several hours, but reopened around 6 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
