The claim, which is still being investigated, is detailed in an affidavit filed by the FBI on Sunday, describing the case against Riley June Williams, a Pennsylvania woman who was seen in images of the insurgency inside of the Capitol leading crowds.
According to the affidavit, a person identified as Williams’ former romantic partner called the FBI’s tip line to identify Williams. The tipster told the FBI they had spoken to friends of Williams who showed them a video of the woman carrying a laptop or hard drive from Pelosi’s office, according to the affidavit.
The statement “stated that Williams intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service.”
He also notes that, “for unknown reasons,” that sale dropped and Williams still owns the device or has since destroyed it.
The FBI stated in the affidavit that the tip is still being investigated. Williams faces charges related to entry into a restricted building and disorderly conduct.
