He did not come under pressure.
A Canadian teenager who got lost while riding a snowmobile managed to survive in an incredible way by building a snow cave and staying there until it was discovered.
“This young man did everything right after things went wrong,” South Cariboo Search and Rescue, the nonprofit service that finally found the unnamed 17-year-old on Facebook, wrote. The attached photographs show the impressive looking lair that the sudden survival built and housed until the rescue.
According to the department, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the area first noticed that something was wrong when on Saturday evening they received news of an outdated snowmobile. According to reports, the boy had not returned to the parking lot along with the other party members.
At this point, some snowmobiles began searching for the missing teenager, while others alerted SCSAR. Several hours later, the mounted police received a message from SCSAR that “they had located the young man in good condition and were transporting him from the mountain,” according to the police statement.
SCSAR wrote on Facebook that the teenager “had separated from his group” and could not find the way out of the camp “as he entered it.”
Although he did not know the “terrain and area”, the ingenious man in the open air “parked the sled in a very open area, went to a nearby wooded area and built an incredible snow cave for spend the night, ”they wrote. Rescuers found him inside the cold fox hole with food and water.
SCSAR concluded, “This young man made our job a little less difficult by staying in place and having some knowledge of winter survival.”
Needless to say, Facebook’s peanut gallery was impressed by the snowmobile’s ingenuity.
“Great thinking from the youngster and great teaching from those who taught him survival skills,” said a new fan of amateur Bear Grylls.
Another wrote: “Whoever teaches this young man deserves a medal! Always be prepared for the worst. “
