Use these next-generation drivers on your streaming device.
Nvidia Update 8.2.2 deployed On Tuesday, with welcome support for PS5 and Xbox controllers that the premium streaming device was missing despite the consoles having been released months ago. Shield users will now be able to use their DualSense or Xbox Series X / S controllers to play Android or GeForce Now games that are also offered through streaming devices.
Now any of these next generation drivers can be paired via Bluetooth. In DualSense for the PS5, press and hold the Playstation and Share / Clip until the light flashes blue. On newer Xbox controllers, connect by holding down the pair button until the Xbox button flashes.
Aside from the added console support, the update also introduces new games, fixes bugs, improves the volume control of Denon receivers, and adds support for remote controls and the Control4 app.
Nvidia Shield devices are some of the best gearboxes you can buy thanks to its powerful AI scaling features. But they’re definitely not cheap – the Shield TV retails for $ 150, while the Pro version, which comes equipped with a couple of USB ports, 3GB of RAM, and supports Plex media service, will get you back about $ 200. They’re streaming devices that make a lot of sense to the multitude of games, making this week’s update for next-generation controllers a big win for gamers who, by some miracle, have been able to buy a of consoles.
At the very least, players now have the option to use the latest and greatest control devices to play elsewhere.
