Total recoveryTotal recoveryTotal Recall is a look back at the history of video games through their characters, franchises, developers and trends.

This collection of 20-minute images in b-roll format, filmed as part of a news report and only uploaded to YouTube this week, gives us a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at Nintendo of America in 1990, which shows from manufacturing to R&D and the Nintendo Power Line.

While some are narrated or part of interviews, much of it is simply images that capture day-to-day activities, which is incredibly relaxing to watch in a “slow TV” way. Workers assembling NES consoles by hand it’s particularly fantastic.

If this look back in time makes you nostalgic for the news of missing consumer electronics, the YouTube account itself has so much more you should check out, including the launch of the iMac in 1998 i a 1991 trip to Toys ‘R’ Us.
