The ticket that tied the six numbers in Wednesday’s Powerball draw was sold out yesterday in the state of Maryland.
The prize, the fourth highest in the game’s history, was $ 731.1 million at the time of the draw with a cash option of $ 546,800,000 for whoever got the numbers right.
The winning ticket holder will have the option to choose between an estimated annuity of $ 731,100, paid in 30 installments over 29 years, or a one-time cash payment of $ 546,800,000. Both prize options are pre-tax.
The winning numbers in the draw on Wednesday 20 January were white balls 40, 53, 60, 68, 69, plus Powerball 22 and Power Play 3X multiplier.
The participating lotteries reminded players to check their tickets for one of nine ways to win. In Wednesday’s draw alone, more than 4.4 million plays won prizes ranging from $ 4 million to $ 2 million.
About 12 tickets matched the five white balls, but failed to hit the red Powerball in Wednesday’s draw to win a $ 1 million prize.
The $ 1 million winning plays were sold in California (2), Georgia (2), Illinois (2), Maine, Michigan, New Jersey (3) and Oregon. Another ticket, sold in Maryland, matched the five white balls and doubled the prize to $ 2 million, because the ticket included the Power Play option for an additional $ 1.
Wednesday’s draw was the 36th in the fourth Jackpot fourth race since it began on September 19, 2020. The biggest prize victory in Maryland culminated in what has been the longest prize in history of Powerball.
For the upcoming draw on Saturday, January 23, the biggest Powerball prize will be reset to $ 20 million (cash value of $ 15 million). The 10X multiplier will be in play as part of the Power Play option as the announced Jackpot is less than $ 150 million.
