Without delivering the new ‘Big 3’ of the Nets

Cleveland. Colin Sexton added 25 points and nine assists, Andre Drummond added 19 units and 16 rebounds, and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Brooklyn Nets on Friday 125-113.

For the second time in three days, the Cavs came out on top against Brooklyn, who played without superstar Kevin Durant. The winger was absent as a precautionary measure, while continuing to regain form after surgery on his right Achilles tendon.

Kyrie Irving racked up 38 points, while James Harden totaled 19 units and 11 assists for Brooklyn, which fell 147-135 Wednesday in double-time overtime. That was the first game the Nets had on the court with their trio of figures.

During that day he scored 38 points and played 50 minutes, so the Nets decided to give him a break on Friday. Brooklyn will play again this Saturday.

Jarret Allen – acquired from the Nets through the colossal change involving Harden on January 14 – scored 19 points and caught six rebounds as a substitute. Larry Nance Jr. he scored 15 points for Cleveland, who has won three duels in a row and placed above the .500 mark, 8-7.

Dominating Embiid again

Joel Embiid added 38 points and 11 rebounds, Tobias Harris added 23 units and the Philadelphia 76ers doubled the Boston Celtics on Friday 122-110.

Seth Curry returned to the starting eleven of the Sixers, from which he had missed six games after testing positive for COVID-19. He scored 15 points.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 42 points and nine rebounds, while Marcus Smart finished with 20 points.

The 76ers, with their health restored, once again shone as legitimate aspirants to the East.

Embiid had scored 42 points on Wednesday, in a win over Boston itself. This time he lavished another fantastic performance.

The Cameroonian hit 14 of 15 shots from the penalty line. It looked almost perfect, after receiving a review from Smart.

The Boston player said Embiid “falls and makes fouls”, after the star pivot came to the line 21 times in the game in which he scored 42 points.

The Celtics made just 20 free throws in that engagement – none in the final quarter.
