M-Two’s role “significantly reduced”
A new report suggests the unannounced remake of Capcom Resident Evil 4 it is currently in the process of restructuring. While it was previously reported that the Japanese studio M-Two was leading the project, new development rumors claim that Capcom is taking the wheel after alleged disagreements over the direction of the project.
The report, obtained by VGC, suggests that M-Two had expressed a desire to keep its remake of the 2005 horror classic relatively concerned, concerned about the reaction to the 2020 changes. Resident Evil 3. Capcom supposedly would see the opposite, wanting to take a risk, pointing Leon and Ashley’s acclaimed adventure in a new direction.
As a result, it is rumored that the role of M-Two in the development of Resident Evil 4 is now “significantly reduced”, which Capcom allegedly would incorporate into its Division 1 team, (from Devil May Cry V fame) to perform most of the design and development of the remake. This restructuring of the team is expected to cause a significant delay Resident Evil 4, with sources suggesting it will not see the light of day until 2023.
Of course, there is a fun side note to the fact that the Resident Evil 4 the remake does not technically exist, as Capcom has not yet officially announced the title. But given the commercial success of Resident Evil 2 i Resident Evil 3In addition to the specifically legendary status of the series’ fourth main entry into the survival horror franchise, this remake is as inevitable as a belly-to-belly suplex on a Los Ganados farmer.
