Last night, CD Projekt Red released the first major update of theirs problematic open world shooter, Ciberpunk 2077. “Major” is a relative term. While it is larger than previous updates, yesterday patch 1.1 it focuses more on stability corrections than on a comprehensive review. In fact, it may have even made the game worse, introducing a potentially groundbreaking error.
Patch 1.1 deals with an issue of the “Down on the Street” mission where Takemura would not shout, thus preventing any progress on the mission. He will call now, apparently, but then I won’t say a word. Some users to say that reloading old saves or creating new save files does not solve it either.
There is at least one apparent solution. First, try calling Judy before Call Takemura. When you do, hang up the line and then do some side work. (The player who reported this solution tackled a side mission from Delamain.) Wait 24 hours in the game and Takemura should call in, with dialogues and all, which will allow you to progress to “Down on the Street.”
Kotaku has contacted CD Projekt Red to comment.
I’m playing Ciberpunk 2077 on an Xbox Series X, where it performs better than it seems so on the latest generation consoles, but no, as one of my roommates likes to remind me so often, just like on their high-end platform. Still, I’ve come across some bugs from day one. These are usually garden variety hiccups: NPCs floating in the air in ways they shouldn’t, or a weapon that refuses to reload even though I’ve touched “X”, such as now, eighteen times. Small potatoes.

The mistake that pissed me off in the game came during the “Stadium Love” side mission, in which you reunite with a gang of veterans, throw back bad vodka shots as if you’re at a bad frat party is that? ”), rubbing alcohol? ”, Asks V), and then participates in a shooting contest. In one attempt, I couldn’t pull out the gun, almost an instant DQ in a shootout. In another it was, but all the veterans around me also threw theirs and started firing at me. That also sucked. I decided to file the game until I was in a better state.
“Stadium Love” is not on the dozen missions that were tackled yesterdaypatch 1.1. Against my best judgment, after downloading the 16.5 GB update (!!!), I tried the search again. I was able to fire my gun without any problems. I was also shot. Therefore, not perfect.
CDPR says yesterday’s update addresses an issue with the “M’ap Tann Pèlen” search, in which players could encounter a roadblock trying to talk to the character Mr. Hands by phone. I had no problem doing this today, but had never tried the search before downloading patch 1.1. Who knows if I would have had a problem, say, three weeks ago.
Overall, after spending some time with the game last night, I can say that it feels almost exactly the same as before I left it. Perhaps those of the latest generation consoles have more advantages. At this point, social media seems noisy, with news noticing that the patch exists or that players point out how similar the notes look. CDPR he says this patch is “focused on various stability improvements and bug fixes” and “lays the groundwork for future patches.” The next due date will be in February, for a statement from December.
Ten days ago, the CDPR released a video saying that the big January update would be released in the next ten days. YesterdayPatch 1.1, in the most technical sense, achieves this mark. In fact, these are updates that actually fix some issues in the game. He also landed in Friday at 17:00 ET (22:00 Warsaw time). Make it what you want it to be.
Is Ciberpunk 2077 “Good” now, in the way that No Man’s Sky paved the way to greatness? No not yet. But this is a small step in the right direction. I look forward to seeing what follows.
