Dallas.- A 34-year-old Texas man was arrested for allegedly participating in the Dallas assault on the Capitol of United States this month and post violent threats, including a call to assassinate the Democratic representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.
Garret Miller, who is from the suburb of Richardson in Dallas, was arrested Friday after being named in a five-count federal complaint.
Authorities allege that Miller posted photos and videos on his social media accounts showing him inside the Capitol during the January 6 assault on the building by supporters of the then president. Donald Trump. They also say he called for violence in online posts, including a tweet that simply said “Murder AOC,” a reference to the liberal Ocasio-Cortez.
In another tweet, Miller posted, “The next time we carry guns, they’ll be right,” an FBI agent wrote in an affidavit.

Miller also threatened a U.S. Capitol police officer during an exchange on Instagram, writing that he planned to “hug his neck with a nice rope,” the affidavit says.
After posting a photo on Facebook showing him inside the Capitol, Miller responded to a comment about the image with, “I just want to incriminate a little bit,” according to an FBI affidavit.
Ocasio-Cortez posted Miller’s indictment documents on Twitter on Friday and then tweeted, “On the one hand you have to laugh and on the other hand know that the reason they were so brazen is because they thought that they were going to be successful “.

Miller’s lawyer, Clint Broden, said in an email to The Associated Press that Miller regrets the actions he took “in a misguided effort to show his support for former President Trump.”
“His comments on social media reflect a very ill-considered political hyperbole in very divided times and will certainly not be repeated in the future,” Broden said. “He hopes to leave all this behind.”
Miller is scheduled for an arrest hearing Monday.
“We hope that, given the support of his family and remorse for his actions, he will be released so that he can settle the charges against him in a timely manner,” Broden said.
