A Texas man faces federal charges for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 violent pro-Trump revolt at the Capitol, as well as for online death threats allegedly against Rep. Seconds a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Garret Miller posted a video from the Capitol on his Twitter page, titled “From Within Congress.” He allegedly also posted several other posts on social media indicating his involvement before and after the riot.
“I’m about to drive across the country for this trump,” Miller wrote in a Jan. 2 post, according to the complaint. “Some crazy — will happen this week. The dollar could collapse … the civil war could start … I don’t know what to do in DC.”
In the hours after the riot, Miller allegedly responded to an Ocasio-Cortez tweet that said “Impeach,” indicating the congresswoman’s support for imputing the former President TrumpDonald Trump McCarthy says he told Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene he disagreed with his dismissal articles against Biden Biden, and Trudeau agrees to meet next month Trump planned to dismiss the AG action to cancel Georgia’s election results: MORE report for his participation in the provocation of the riot.
The criminal complaint noted that in response, Miller wrote that “we acted with honor and we where [sic] unarmed, “and then, in an additional response, added,” Assassin AOC. ”
Miller on social media also expressed his anger at the fatal hit of one of the riot police, Ashli Babbitt. According to the criminal complaint, Miller threatened to find the Capitol Police officer who shot Babbitt and “hugged his neck with a good rope.”
Days later, Miller allegedly wrote in a Facebook post that the agent “wouldn’t survive long” and that he “deserved it.”[s] die, “adding that it was” hunting season. ”
Miller was arrested Wednesday in the North Texas district and made his first court appearance on Friday, he reported Records of the Department of Justice.
The Texas man faces a total of five charges: illegal entry, violent entry and disorderly conduct at the Capitol base, obstruction of an official proceeding, and acts of civil disorder and threats made online, according to the judicial presentation.
Ocasio-Cortez responded to the charges on Twitter Friday, specifically quoting a tweet in which Miller wrote: “I just wanted to incriminate myself a little bit,” after posting a selfie at the Capitol.
“Well, you did!” the congresswoman replied.
He added in a follow-up tweet: “On the one hand, you have to laugh and on the other, know that the reason they were so cheeky is because they thought they would succeed.”

As of Saturday, the Justice Department has already indicted more than 135 people for committing crimes on or near the Capitol premises, with more charges planned for the coming weeks and months.
Ocasio-Cortez, who has called on Trump and his followers to take responsibility in connection with the riot, revealed last week in an Instagram video that had a “close encounter” during the riot in which he feared for his life.
Ocasio-Cortez said he could not divulge details of the meeting “for security reasons,” but stressed that he “thought he would die.”
