Kyle Rittenhouse must avoid white supremacists, guns, alcohol: judge

Kyle Rittenhouse, an Illinois teenager accused of fatally shooting two people during protests in Wisconsin last year, must stay away from white supremacists, guns and alcohol, according to a judge .

The decision comes after Rittenhouse, who has a $ 2 million free bail, was seen drinking at a bar in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, and posed for a photo with two men who threw a “OK” sign, a supposed symbol of white power.

Prosecutors asked that the terms of Rittenhouse’s bail be changed once the photo appeared.

A Wisconsin judge ordered, stating that Rittenhouse “shall not knowingly conduct any person or group of persons known to harm, threaten, harass or threaten others based on their race, beliefs on the subject of religion, color , the national gender origin “.

The 18-year-old is also banned from obtaining a firearm and consuming alcohol.

The legal drinking age in Wisconsin is 21, but Rittenhouse was allowed to drink legally at the bar because he was with his mother.

Rittenhouse was 17 when he joined an armed militia on Aug. 25, ostensibly to protect businesses in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during protests over the shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man who was shot seven times in the back by a white police.

Rittenhouse fired his assault-style rifle during the protest, killing Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber. The shooting also injured Gaige Grosskreutz, according to authorities.

He has since pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder arising from the shootings, claiming he fired in self-defense.
