Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mod adds Sora from Kingdom Hearts

You may recall rumors late last year about a possible addition of Sora, star of Kingdom Hearts, to the popular Nintendo fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this seemed quite meaty thanks to some compelling resources. Turns out, this was actually taken from a modification of modder Mastaklo, and the version itself is already available and available to anyone who subscribes to the modifier’s Patreon. If you just want to see the Sora mod in action, the modder has easily shared a small game showcase, which you can check out above, showing what to expect.

Sora, if you’re somehow unfamiliar, has been a favorite request for fans for an additional fighter for years. There has never been any serious indication that it would reach the title, of course, but Square Enix’s continued collaboration with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the form of Cloud Strife and Sephiroth, DLC fighters continue to fuel rumors that there could be even more.

As for the modification, the Sora model looks pretty good in action and uses the Shulk mobile, an existing model Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter. In part, that’s also how people determined that rumors of Sora’s DLC were a lot of malarkey last year; an animated posture from Sora was expressly identical to Shulk because, as noted above, it was really from that mod.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available for Nintendo Switch. The last and best DLC fighter for the title, Sephiroth, was released in late December. You can check out all of our previous coverage at Super Smash Bros. Ultimate right here.
