The Department of Health (DS) indicated this Sunday that the COVID-19 vaccination appointment system through the turnospr.com portal will not be used tomorrow, Monday, although it did not provide any further statements or details.
The agency said it would expand information tomorrow regarding the expected appointment system that the government has been discussing since late December.
Last Thursday, the appointed Secretary of Health, Carlos Mellado, had anticipated that “on Monday we will move forward with this”, in reference to the premiere of the platform. The system, the secretary predicts, will allow “to have the number of people to be vaccinated every day.”
The director of the VOICES coalition, Lilliam Rodríguez, told a The New Day that on Friday there was a meeting of vaccine suppliers together with Health and the company Torns Mitjana, which operates the turnospr.com platform and under which the appointment system for vaccination against COVID-19 would be unified in the island.
“Turnospr gave us a presentation on how the application will work, we can connect our system (dating) to the system of them,” said Rodriguez, although he clarified that VOICES continues to use its dating system individual, through which they have already vaccinated about 3,800 older adults corresponding to phase 1-by will vaccinate about 1,000 more this week, already mentioned.
“Health is looking for a tool to unify all the providers we are helping in handling the pandemic, specifically in the vaccination part,” the organization’s director expressed. One of the goals, he said, is to avoid duplication of appointments from individuals who have contacted more than one provider.
