Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti’s Palm Springs could have been our new favorite movie of 2020. This could be partly because I didn’t have much competition in this area, but also because more nerdy, more adorable and somehow less cynical Groundhog Day a tale that was a delight to escape while we were trapped in our own time loop. So we’re excited when Heck just released a commentary on the film, not only as an excuse to re-enjoy the film, but because this is a big step toward streaming titles to finally get DVD-style extras.

By the way, this is quite intentional. Variety announced the news, along with this view of Samberg: “As far as I know, we are the first. We realized that Palm Springs it will always be on Hulu, which is great, but there are elements of the DVD experience that no longer exist. They were very kind in talking about ways to introduce fun things. ”

Hulu isn’t the only streaming service that has begun to submerge its feet in DVD’s extravagant waters. Disney + has this documentary series that goes behind the scenes of The Mandalorian, and some services attach trailers to their titles, though this is more appealing than archiving. But if Netflix and Amazon Prime want to start dedicating themselves to offering people more good stuff for selected shows and movies, I’m sure everyone would participate. Anyway, who wouldn’t want to see a blooper reel after doing the third season The right place without having to go to YouTube?

For now, though, you can enjoy Palm Springs commentary track with Samberg, Milioti and director Max Barbakow and screenwriter Andy Siara. Hulu even made a trailer:

Presumably, the whole commentary trail isn’t just people saying nice but banal things about the movie, but you can tell for yourself, it’s already available on Hulu.
