Konami production restructuring has not “closed the gaming division”

When you get together, you are like a sewing circle …

Last week, industry giant Konami announced it would go through a corporate restructuring, consolidating some of its internal departments and reorganizing its staff to better streamline its production division in response to a rapidly changing market. What he did not do, however, was “close his game division.”

That was the word that quickly spread on the internet yesterday, appearing on all social media despite the actual announcement being made on January 15th. IGN, confirming that, for the most part, it continues to function as usual at Konami.

“The announcement made refers to an internal restructuring, with the consolidation of production divisions,” the statement said. “We haven’t” closed “our video game division.”

Essentially, these changes simply relocate several senior executives to new roles, while officially dissolving and restructuring multiple production divisions into larger, unique departments. The staff of each dissolved division is expected to become a role within the new teams. Konami’s restructuring will take effect on February 1, 2021.

So don’t worry, Konami is still close to not doing it again Silent hill.
