MONTERREY – The Argentine Guido Pizarro, midfielder of the UANL tigers, Said on Tuesday that his team will not bear the responsibility of representing Mexico in the Club World Cup in Qatar to be played in February.
“We represent our people, who always support us, we represent a region to win the CONCACAF, but we do not carry the responsibility of representing a country,” he expressed.
The feline team won the Club World Cup qualifier by winning the CONCACAF Champions League last December.
the tigers will begin their participation in the World Cup on February 4 when they face in the quarterfinals in South Korea Ulsan Hyundai FC, Asian champion.
“The first game will be difficult because it is in which we will identify the level of the other teams. We go with the mentality of being champions, as in all the competitions we have gone to,” said the 30-year-old.
The former Spanish Sevilla player acknowledged that in the Club World Cup they will face rivals who will require them to always have a high level, but he is confident that the tigers they will be the first Mexican team to win this title.
“We feel with the ability to be champions, but understanding that a bad match or a bad night can leave you out. The mentality has to be to give the maximum match to match,” he said.
