Pedro Ramos is 85 years old and says his only sin was being born into poverty. The father’s love for a son remains intact despite his physical and economic limitations. The octogenarian cares for and feeds his daughter who has suffered from paralysis since birth, which keeps her prostrate in a wheelchair.
They reside in which it was a coffee parcel, located in the small village Santa Elenita, corner the Bridge, in Juayúa, Sonsonate.
The old man, with his daughter Zoila Esperança, 46, live in a house of just four square meters, which is made of cypress sheets and horcones.

They have been in the place for four months, when they were evicted from a farm where they lived as settlers.
“Here they have given us a place to live, not even a little bit, but it’s enough to make our champita; I can’t work for my age anymore. I take care of my daughter Zoila, she’s lying prostrate in this old woman wheelchair, ”the old man explained.
Some people who know about their situation give them some groceries to survive.
