‘Man caiman’ asks for help in networks to get a job – People – Culture

“The caiman man, wrist and ‘donkey are talking to you, so that you can make your videos like this on the internet with the caiman man. Don’t charge me dearly, do it now! Don’t waste time (…)”.

These words are said by comedian Álvaro Lemmon, with a guitar in his hand and sitting on the sofa of a house. His song was recorded in a video he posted via his Twitter account, which has more than 10,000 followers.

In the post, Lemmon asks his friends for collaboration because he is “making promotional videos for business, birthday greetings and everything you need.” He assures that the audiovisual products are cheap and that for any help they can contact him on his cell phone number.

The comedian’s message went viral on this social network and some people have already announced that they want to help him.

The ‘caiman man’, as he is known, lost his job in 2019 after the release of ‘Happy Saturdays’, one of the oldest programs on Colombian television and in which he participated for more than 40 years .

At the time, Lemmon thanked the program for so many years of work, but did not hide his discomfort at the way his departure was given. It also transpired that he was fired on pension issues: at the age of 74, he had already complied with the 62 regulations for the retirement of men.

“I was told that everything remained the same, that I was still on the payroll. However, some time later, they announced to me that I had to leave,” he said.

And it is that one of the sectors most affected by the crisis generated by the coronavirus has been that of art and culture.

Only in Bogotá, for example, Nicolás Montero, Secretary of Culture of Bogotá, and Maurici Agudelo, Director of Creative Economics, confirmed to this newspaper that last year “specifically in the performing and visual arts, in the cultural heritage area, which are the spaces that first went into crisis, there was a reduction in revenue of 312 billion pesos per month. ”

Felipe Buitrago, Minister of Culture, explained that in the midst of the difficulties, in 2021 this sector will have the highest budget in its history (444 billion pesos) and the sectors that are part of the Orange Economy will have a quota $ 517 billion tax to drive projects nationwide.
