Announcements

During the briefing, Rodriguez sent his condolences to the family of the county’s six-year-old worker, Roman Gonzalez, 59, who died of COVID-19. The commissioner said so far six employees have died due to COVID-19.

Nirenberg said Texas and U.S. mayors are pushing for more doses of the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine. He said the state supply would soon arrive three weeks earlier and the state would notify the city of how many doses would come, so the city could fill appointments in advance.

Nirenberg also said the Fiesta Commission will meet this week with health officials and leaders anticipate an announcement next week.
