SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff briefed the community on the local response to COVID-19 in its daily session Friday night.
Nirenberg reported 167,567 COVID-19 cases in total and 2,046 deaths in total in Bexar County, an increase of 1,545 new cases as of Friday. Nine people have been reported dead today.
The moving average of cases over 7 days is 1,359.
City officials also reported that 1,216 patients are hospitalized, 401 in the intensive care unit and 256 in ventilators. 11% beds are available and 51% fans are available.
There have been 112 hospital admissions in the last 24 hours, Nirenberg said.

Wolff said the Bexar County Hospital District will administer about 27,000 COVID-19 vaccines next week at mass vaccination sites.
