A New York real estate agent has surprised social media users after showing a small apartment that costs $ 1,650 a month to rent.
The West Village studio not only doesn’t have a stove or oven, a small fridge and a small closet, but it doesn’t even have its own bathroom.
Instead, for $ 1,650 a month, residents have to share a toilet and shower (which are also in separate rooms) with the entire complex.
And tenants should be sure not to lose their keys as they are needed to get into the bathroom and shower.
The astronomical price of the Manhattan apartment, located on 5th Ave and 11th St, near New York University, is not even as high as it could have been pre-pandemic, and prices continue to fall as wealthy New Yorkers continue to exodus.

The video was shared by TikTok’s new account New York City Realtor (@newyorkcityrealtor), directed by Cameron Knowlton and Tatum Kelly, who have already amassed 2.4 million likes in six videos in less than a week.
After the first videos showed larger residences of more than $ 10,000 a month, Knowlton showed the worst place he has ever come across, noting that as a real estate agent, he doesn’t set the rent.
“A couple of years ago I posted the worst apartment in the Facebook group,” he told DailyMail.com.
“I was just starting out in real estate and struggling to get it. It was my first post as a real estate agent (much of our job) and the Internet broke me. I have death threats.

He decided to try it again this year with his new TikTok account, eager to show what the pits of New York real estate can really mean and do it on his own terms.
Knowlton says he is not fond of the building, but had found it to be an open list, which anyone with a real estate license can show to potential tenants if they so wished.
“People ask me, what’s the worst apartment you’ve ever seen, I’ll show you,” Knowlton says in TikTok footage before moving into the one-bedroom house.

In a second video, he reveals the situation of the bathroom which, according to him, is “as bad as you could imagine.”
“Imagine you’re in the dining area and you have to go, follow me,” he says as he stands in the apartment.

Others looking at TikTok were dismayed by how little a tenant was having, stating in the following comments that “this must be a joke.”

Despite the criticism, some have rented the apartment, though not for long.
It was last rented in October 2019, which means its last occupant could stay just over a year.
Knowlton also said the reaction has been “100 percent” more positive than the last time he highlighted the “worst New York apartment” and that he now uses his viral fame to raise money for homeless people in the his latest TikTok video.
