Officers attached to the Fajardo Maritime Division confiscated a cargo of 239 blocks of cocaine yesterday and intervened with four crew members amid a maritime patrol at 10:30 p.m. on the north coast of Loíza.
The estimated value of the drug found is approximately $ 7,409,000.00.
According to the preliminary police statement, the authorities intervened with a boat that had its navigation lights off, and when given the warning to stop, its crew began to flee to the shores of the Rio Grande de Loíza.
There were four crew members on board, three of whom were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard, and one by personnel from the Fajardo Maritime Division. These carried 10 bundles with 239 blocks of cocaine.
