Cecily Strong may have opened the weekend Saturday night live with a new, solid impression of Marjorie Taylor Greene, but it was very positive during “Weekend Update” when Beck Bennett destroyed her Mike Lindell.
Joining Colin Jost to talk about his Twitter exile after continuing to push conspiracy theories against voter fraud, Lindell approached MyPillow as he backed down accusations that helped inspire Capitol riots.
“Well, hold on, Buck-o, I didn’t inspire any insurrection, anyone!” Lindell declared. “I’m just a former normal American addict who becomes a former president’s advisor and CEO.”
He also vowed not to actually meet with Trump on “martial law” earlier this month. “I just suggested that the military overthrow the government,” he said. “And if that’s not democracy, I don’t know what it is!”
From there, Lindell admitted that he gets all his best political ideas from his MyPillow. “What’s this, MyPillow?” he asked. “Really? Wow! MyPillow said Dominion surpassed the voting machine algorithms so that China could use it for Biden, with Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong-un and Chrissy Teigen! ”
He concluded the reading by reading an unknown excerpt from his memoirs, “What are the odds? From Crack Addict to CEO” before shouting at Jost, “My brain is on fire” and then, to a large extent, Krakowski is obsessed with me! ”
It was the funniest and funniest moment of the episode, until Bowen Yang and Kyle Mooney appeared as Fran Lebowitz and Martin Scorsese.
