With a new year comes the new Switch games and while January is traditionally a quiet month for new releases, there were still some absolute crackers to enjoy this time around.
These awards aim to celebrate the best of Nintendo’s digital store, giving a little love and attention to games that could so easily be lost in the Switch’s growing library.
Let’s start, then. These are the best Switch eShop games of January 2021.

While these titles haven’t quite become the top three finishers this month, it’s still worth reviewing.

This month is the third place Hitman 3 – Cloud Version, an imperfect but more than functional version of the latest version of IO Interactive. Real-time playback will never be the best solution for gaming – you’ll need a particularly strong Internet connection to enjoy it, but for Switch owners who don’t have access to another system, this version provides at least one option. welcome.
As for the game itself, we described it as “a suitable submission for one of the great protagonists of the game,” giving the Switch version an 8/10. If you need an internet connection, it’s worth a try.

In second place is Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition – and no, we didn’t let Zion vote this 300 times as he asked us to, we promise.
Fantastic again to enjoy on your Switch, this latest version of Scott Pilgrim features the fantastic presentation and a crunchy fighting game we’ve all been waiting for. There are a few peaks of difficulty that endanger the processes, but it’s still easy to recommend and that has taken the NL team over the past few weeks.

Speaking of sinking the team, first we have Cyber Shadow, a game that topped our vote rating a mile this month.
From the games of Mechanical Head and Yacht Club, Cyber Shadow is an absolute must for lovers of retro action platforms. With well-constructed levels, authentic presentation, tight controls and a high but enjoyable difficulty, the game is a supreme, focused experience that we can easily say is well worth it.
If you have the budget to pick up one more game from last month, consider this one.
How do we decide that our e-store selects the first three: When we get to the end of each month, Nintendo Life staff vote on their favorite titles from a list of games selected by the editorial team. To qualify for this list, these games must have been released as the Nintendo Switch eShop digital title this particular month and will need to be reviewed on Nintendo Life; we select the ranking games based on their review scores. Staff are then asked to vote for three parties they believe deserve to be at the top of this list; the first option gets 3 points, the second option gets 2 points and the third option gets 1 point. These votes are counted to create a list of the top three, and the overall winner will get this month’s top prize.
