A U.S. border agent fatally shot a migrant

HIDALGO, UNITED STATES.– An agent from Border patrol of the United States Baleo fatally a man who he was trying to enter illegally to country from Mexico’s border with Texas, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection reported.

The agent was investigating reports of people entering the United States illegally near the port of entry of Hidalgo, about 370 miles south of San Antonio, when he shot the man while trying to arrest him Friday morning. .

Until this Saturday the authorities have not reported on the identity of the migrant, nor is it known what nationality he was.

The agency says the man later died in a hospital and the officer was not injured.

The shooting is being investigated by the border police agency’s professional responsibility office.
