Wendy Williams Documentary: The 9 Biggest Revelations

The queen of Hot Topics finally reported herself.

After the Saturday premiere of “Wendy Williams: The Movie” on Lifetime, Wendy Williams talked about her amazing, often chaotic, life in the documentary “Wendy Williams: What a Mess!”

While she was full of her bloody demeanor and attitude, she also offered more than a cryptic line about her life and her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.

“It’s been a year since hell, in a good way,” the 56-year-old Williams documentary opened as she was tied to her lymphedema machine.

Throwing himself at Doritos and caviar, which he described as a “ghetto-mouth party,” Williams used his own words to describe everything from the numerous miscarriages to meeting Hunter’s new baby.

Here are the nine biggest revelations:

Williams’ parents, Shirley Skinner Williams and Thomas Williams Sr., often criticized the future radio and television host for her weight and forced her to weigh herself every day.

“Wendy is overweight,” recalled her mother, who has since died bluntly, of her daughter’s child construction.

Her parents packed Wendy tuna and mustard with some grapes for lunch while she was a freshman, but she would sneak in to buy ice cream and other snacks. To manipulate the scale during weights, it was tilted to one side.

Ultimately, the criticism took its toll and became bulimic. One night, her brother Tommy caught her, but that didn’t stop her. He finally stopped vomiting because he read in a tabloid that the teeth of a famous star began to rot from vomiting.

“I’m a dentist,” Wendy said in the documentary.

His interview with Whitney Houston was the turning point in her career

In a now legendary 2003 interview, Wendy spoke with an outraged Houston on the phone for her radio show about her drug abuse, Bobby Brown’s struggles with the law and how it affects her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. and much more.

The tense conversation revealed a side of the legendary singer that no one had seen before and the interview catapulted Wendy’s career.

Many did not know it, what was considered a success for everyone was a dark moment for the host of daytime gatherings.

“I was overwhelmed by the overflow,” Wendy said.

During Wendy’s press tour before the Lifetime premieres, Wendy claimed that artist Sherrick “raped” her. The widow of the R&B singer, who died in 1999, told Page Six that the claims were “painful.”

“Sherrick was a beautiful man, a genius with a voice like an angel,” Lynne Conner Smith said. “We have three amazing children. This is very painful not only for us, but for his nieces and nephews. “

It was a surprising choice for Wendy to reveal the identity of her alleged rapist, as she would not do so in the documentary because she is a “one-hit marvel.”

Wendy almost died due to her drug addiction

Wendy started blowing cocaine as a means to stay awake during her night radio shifts. She did it five days a week for years, but eventually the habit took over.

“It wasn’t a big deal and nothing big became a big deal,” he said in the documentary.

One night, she fainted and hit her head in the bathroom of the radio station when no one was there to help her.

“It’s a miracle I’m here right now,” he said of the crash.

Tragically, Wendy suffered a second pregnancy loss at five months, and as she cried, she remembered having to give birth to a dead baby girl.

“I don’t know too many people who can go through what she went through at the time,” Wendy’s sister, Wanda, shared.

Finally, she gave birth to Kevin Hunter Jr.

Longtime fans know that Wendy is no stranger to going under the knife, but she became incredibly sincere about everything she has done, why she did it, and when she did it.

During the documentary, Wendy revealed that she told Hunter, whom she described as a “hot hustler” on her “first or second date,” that she planned to get breast implants and liposuction; honesty seemed the best policy for her from day one – a few months later, and she was supportive.

A few years later, after giving birth to her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., Wendy caught Hunter cheating on her and decided to improve her body, so she went for a tummy tuck and more liposuction.

Hunter, who managed Williams ’career throughout his marriage, began cutting people off from Williams’ life, including his longtime friend and partner, Mister Cee, who appeared in the documentary. Former Williams producer Arthur Evans said Hunter became “very controlling” and said many feared them.

Finally, Hunter was banned from Wendy’s radio station because he allegedly verbally abused Williams and the radio management.

Williams also revealed that his longtime security guard, James, was “fired” because Hunter believed he and Wendy were getting too close.

“I was an emotionally abused woman,” she said in the documentary, “and I was horribly taken advantage of.”

Wendy definitely stated that Hunter never physically abused her.

“It’s not a beating of women,” she said. “He’s just a weird man with a lot of problems.”

In 2018, Wendy fractured her shoulder. At the time, it was rumored that Hunter was the real cause of the injury, but in the documentary, Wendy claimed she fell and broke her arm “on my own.”

Hunter attended all the production meetings of the “Wendy Williams Show,” but once he arrived late, so Wendy started without him. When Hunter showed up, he fractured the office glass table in anger.

“We partly denied it and partly hoped it would be okay,” Debmar-Mercury co-chair Ira Bernstein said of Hunter.

The collapse of Halloween on the air

On Halloween 2017, Wendy, dressed as the Statue of Liberty, switched to live television.

His spokesman then said it was a result of dehydration. In the documentary, she didn’t say what caused it, but she did say that was the moment when she decided to forgive Hunter for her infidelities up to that point because she stepped in and picked her up as a “lady in trouble.” and encouraged her to finish the show.

Hunter’s infidelity

When Wendy first learned that Hunter was living with Sharina Hudson in a house just nine miles from her family home in New Jersey, Wendy showed up at the house and pasted the mailbox and spray-painted “Kevin + Wendy 4 Ever! ” at the garage door.

Although devastated, Wendy was willing to look beyond the alleged affair until one day she saw Hudson at her home in Livingston, New Jersey, taking photographs for an unknown reason. Looking closer, Wendy noticed a baby lump.

Drinking three bottles of wine before her husband returned home, Wendy lost him.

“I went ham,” he said of his interaction with Hunter.

She started drinking more and more, and Hunter first sent her to rehab in Florida and then visited her at the sober Queens facility when she had to return to filming the show. Williams said he only cleaned the sober house because the paparazzi had followed him.

What fans didn’t know, however, was that their back-and-forth “half-house” drivers were “horrible people,” who disconnected their office phone line and wouldn’t let her connect to the outer world with maximum capacity.

He also revealed that while he was staying there, his father suffered a stroke one week and his mother had another.

After staying healthy and leaving the facility to live solidly, Williams knew she had to file for divorce.
