“It is not a time of silence, neither after the last month, nor after the last years. Someone has to tell the truth. Someone has to say what the story has to hear. So here I am, the Republican party has lost its way, “Kinzinger said in a video posted on country1st.com, the website of its new PAC.
“Today’s Republican Party is not what I added. The GOP I signed up for was built on a principle basis and filled with hope. We believed that a brighter future was just around the corner and we fought tirelessly to get there, ”Kinzinger continued.
Kinzinger was one of ten House Republicans who voted to accuse Trump of his role in inciting the deadly January 6 Capitol rape and has become a outspoken critic of the former president. Since then, he has said his vote has led him to be isolated among his party and has said his decision may be “terminal” for his political career.
“My goal in launching Country1st.com at number one is to say, look, let’s take a look at the last four years, how far we’ve come in the wrong direction. What we look back on, how much darkness and division come. And this is not the party I have ever signed up for. And I think most Republicans didn’t sign up for that, ”Kinzinger said Chuck Todd

Kinzinger said the website would serve as a “landing site” for fellow Conservatives who feel similar to him regarding the state of the Republican Party. He characterized his new PAC as a return to “conservative principles” and opined that his party had “lost its moral authority in many areas”.
