SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff briefed the community on the local response to COVID-19 in its daily session Sunday night.
Nirenberg reported 173,154 COVID-19 cases in total and 2,143 deaths in total in Bexar County, an increase of 174 new cases as of Sunday. Eleven new deaths have been reported today.
The low number of cases is due to the fact that the city did not receive a state laboratory report, according to Nirenberg. And, the total number of cases includes an accumulation of cases, which dates back to July 4th.
The moving average of cases over 7 days is 1,405.
City officials also reported that 1,169 patients are hospitalized, 385 in the intensive care unit and 247 in ventilators. 12% beds are available and 51% fans are available.
