PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Throughout the pandemic, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stood firm on his position on wearing a mask. In November, it expanded its executive order banning local governments from applying violations of the mask mandate.
Now, at least when it comes to public transportation, there is no longer a fine line about wearing a mask. Starting Monday at 11:59 p.m., if you’re at the airport, bus, train, ferry, or boat, or if you’re involved in cars like Uber, Lyft, or a taxi, it’s a federal directive to bring expensive coverage.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an 11-page order on Saturday requiring the use of masks by travelers to prevent the spread of the virus causing COVID-19.
A scarf, ski mask, or bandana are not classified as appropriate facial caps, nor is a shirt or sweater collar worn over the mouth and nose. And for those who like the cover just below the nose, it’s also a no-no. Masks should be worn so that they cover the mouth and nose, according to the CDC.
Announcements
The CDC is directing public transportation officials and other centers to make sure everyone wears a mask when they enter or are on their premises.
“This order must be followed by all passengers on public transportation (e.g., airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, ride-shares) traveling in or out of the United States, as well as operators (e.g., crew, drivers, drivers, and other workers involved in the transportation operation) and transport center operators (e.g., airports, bus or ferry terminals, train or subway stations, ports) seaports, ports of entry) or any other area that provides transportation to the United States. “
See the CDC guidelines below.
The following are mask attributes needed to meet order requirements. CDC will update this guide as needed.
