The Attorney General’s Office ordered the seizure of ten alleged human traffickers who were charged up to $ 11,000 for illegally taking them to the United States.

Among the detainees is José Rafael Martínez Escobar, who is allegedly the ringleader of the network. There are also two police officers arrested for collaborating with the group, according to tax sources.

The arrests of these people resolve 15 cases of victims who handed them money and property and failed to bring them to the United States.

The arrests took place in El Carme and San Rafael Cedros, Cojutepeque in Cuscatlán; Ilobasco, Cabanyes; Sant Salvador and L’Avenir a Santa Anna.

During the arrests, prosecutors confiscated seven vehicles, including one armored vehicle; deeds of purchase and sale of property which the victims handed over as payment and $ 12,780 in cash.
