She gained fame after winning Miss World in 2000, before becoming a very popular movie star in her native India.
And Priyanka Chopra, 38, continues to exude captivating glamor as she wins the cover of the March issue of Elle UK, putting on a series of fitness-themed sets.
In the accompanying interview, the movie star admitted to being “shocked” when her husband, Nick Jonas, 28, proposed to her after just two months out.

In his shoot for the post, the star proudly displays his enviable frame in a range of crop tops with an ab, paired with shorts and tight bottoms.
Away from her sports shoot, the beauty queen talked about her whirlwind romance with Nick’s heart, which began in May 2018.
On July 19 of that year, a day after Priyanka had celebrated her birthday, Nick proposed that they enjoy a romantic getaway to the Greek island of Crete.
Speaking of the proposal, the star said: “I didn’t expect the proposal at that time … It was two months! I thought it would happen, but it was a shock. [But] I gave up control and went with him.

She opened up about how her romance unfolded and explained, “We met sporadically for about two years. We were texting and that, and maybe there was a part of me that wanted something serious.
“But I was taking a break from guys at the time. I didn’t want anyone romantic. But there’s always been something about Nick, so we always ended up keeping in touch, no matter where we were.
One thing I need to know about my husband is that when he decides, he will get what he wants. When he knows it, he knows it. There is such sublime confidence that you can’t help but say, “Okay”.
The couple would go on to make a knot in a lavish ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodphur in December 2018, ending a life-changing year.
Now, Priyanka says, they work on the challenge of making sure they see each other every three weeks, as their busy careers keep them in different parts of the world.

She told Elle, “We see each other every three weeks. Wherever we are in the world, we fly with each other at least once a month for a couple of days. It was our norm when we first got married. Otherwise, we would never see each other.
Marriage has not been the only major recent change for Priyanka, who has had to start her career from scratch after leaving the superstar in India for a new life in the US.
“The hearing process was taboo in India at the time, [especially] when you become a great actor, “he said.” Now, it’s changed a lot, but it’s been 10 years since you auditioned.
-But [in Hollywood] it was the culture, so I had to learn it. I learned that I couldn’t rest on my laurels and that I had to go into a room and introduce myself to people and not feel right.
“Just because a lot of the world can know me, that [doesn’t mean] everyone should do it. It’s always hard to start a new career. And I tried completely [moving to America] as the new career.

‘If you think about it, I’ve only been an actor in the US for five years. I just started doing the job I really want to. It takes time in all races.
Going for gold in Hollywood has also meant dismantling barriers as one of the few South Asian actresses in prominent roles outside the continent.
“I think there is such a big space for Indian talent,” he stated. But it will require a mobilization of our community to support each other instead of throwing each other.
“Me and Mindy [Mindy Kaling], this is how this collaboration happened. [She will be starring alongside Kaling in the first-ever female-led comedy with a completely South Asian cast]

“He was telling me,‘ I want to create opportunities as a producer for the people of South Asia in Hollywood, like I’ve never had. ’” I had to fight for it.
I had to say, “I don’t want to do the extra Indian accent. If my character was born and raised in the UK or the US, why would I talk like that? Why would you bring a bindi? “
‘It’s something silly and stereotypical. I challenged it a lot and now I’m getting to a point in Hollywood where my culture is my good rather than my definition.
Still, as she continues to advance in Hollywood, Priyanka, who recently published her memoirs Unfinished, retires more when it comes to social media.
She said: “My relationship with social media has changed in the last four to five years. Now, without a doubt, I’m much more cautious. I don’t interact as much.
‘[Before], if I didn’t sleep or if I got bored in a trailer, I would start asking questions and answers with fans or post live on Instagram. I am much more careful [now]. It broke my heart a little. The succession of everything, how easy it is to take something trivial and make it so big …
